week after launching its flagship Honor 10 phone, Huawei subsidiary Honor has launched a couple of affordable phones, the Honor 7A and Honor 7C in India. The Honor 7A and Honor 7C come as a follow up to the Honor 7X that was launched in India in December last year, although both of them aren't necessarily an upgrade to it. The Honor 7A and Honor 7C can be best summed up as a toned down as well as more affordable versions of the Honor 7X. Both the Honor 7A as well as the Honor 7C boast of a full-screen (18:9 aspect ratio) design, dual rear cameras, latest Android Oreo software and a big battery. Of the two, the Honor 7C, is a slightly more premium offering in terms of hardware specs.

Honor 7A specs and features

The Honor 7A has a 5.7-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a 1440x720p resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor clubbed with Adreno 505 GPU. It comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage which is expandable by up to 256GB via a dedicated micro-SD card slot. The dual-SIM phone runs Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0. Other connectivity options include: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, micro-USB and a 3.5mm audio jack. The phone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery.

On the optics front, the Honor 7A sports a dual rear camera setup on the rear consisting of one 13-megapixel camera and another 2-megapixel camera for depth sensing aka portrait photography. On the front, the Honor 7A comes with an 8-megapixel camera with 'soft' selfie light.

Honor 7C specs and features

The Honor 7C, which is a slightly more premium offering, comes with a 5.99-inch HD+ IPS LCD display with a 1440x720p resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor clubbed with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes with up to 4GB RAM and up to 64GB storage which is expandable by up to 256GB via a dedicated micro-SD card slot. The dual-SIM phone runs Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0. Other connectivity options include: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/A-GPS, micro-USB, Bluetooth v4.2 and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery.

In terms of all-round design, both the Honor 7A and Honor 7C look exactly the same. Both the phones come with a full-plastic body and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Both the phones come with on-screen navigation keys and dual rear cameras with AI built into them. The front cam, in both the cases, also supports facial recognition tech. Both the phones will be available in three colour: Blue, Black and Gold.

Price and availability

The Honor 7A has been launched in India for Rs 8,999 and will be available for buying from Flipkart from May 29. The Honor 7C will meanwhile start at Rs 9,999 for the base 3GB RAM/32GB storage version going all the way to Rs 11,999 for the top-end version with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The Honor 7C will be available for buying from Amazon India from May 31.
